Awards and In the News








I received an award from the County of San Mateo for being a part of the "As Fresh As It Gets" program. The program was created to promote how to be healthy and reduce your carbon footprint by eating local with the San Mateo County. 

When I teach cooking classes, I try to use local and seasonal ingredients whenever I can.  There are so many reasons for you, as the consumer, to try to do this; it helps the farmers, it's healthier for you (nutrients are preserved and the flavor is better), and it's better for the environment (less traveling).

Honestly, last year, I served a strawberry to my daughter that was not local (it was from a major supermarket). She took one bite and said "I don't like it." She was not even 4 yrs old and could taste the difference.
